Eligibility Certificate
The applicant who has passed the prescribed qualifying examination from recognized University/Boards of examination that are situated outside Karnataka or in a Foreign country shall compulsorily obtain the ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE through (online) Seva Sindhu portal before taking the admission.
1. Candidates may apply for the Eligibility Certificates to the KSLU through online on Seva Sindhu web portal to the office of K.S.L.U., Hubballi along with original/attested documents of 10th, 12th Std & U.G., Degree marks card along with the transcripts issued by the concerned University or Board or Department. If the marks cards issued the universities are in grade systems (GPA) then percentage conversion transcript / marks card have to be uploaded in seva sindhu web portal.
2. The Eligibility Certificate will be issued online by the University for those candidates who have obtained their qualifying degree/certificate from recognized Board / University situated outside the Karnataka state and all the foreign candidates/applicants.
3. The qualifying degree/certificates and marks cards should be in Kannada or English only.
4. All those candidates who have obtained qualifying degree/certificate from outside the Karnataka state should produce the countersigned original certificates from the issuing authorities/universities, otherwise eligibility will not be considered.
5. The students who have studied qualifying examination under CBSC Board, New Delhi or exempted from eligibility certificate for admission.
6. Fees for Eligibility certificate is as prescribed by the University.
## Note: Students have to apply for eligibility certificate through Seva Sindhu portal from 23.07.2025 to 13.08.2025.
The eligibility for admission is as given below:
A) 3 year LL.B programme:
(a) An applicant who has graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent national institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or Foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for Three year degree programme in law leading to the conferment of LL.B. degree on successful completion of the regular programme conducted as per KSLU Regulations.
(b) Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in case of General category applicants, 42% (41.5% and above shall be treated as 42%) for OBC category and 40% (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.
c) Maximum age * for seeking admission is limited to 30 yrs (thirty years) in case of General category of applicants and to 35 yrs (thirty five years) in the case of applicants from SC, ST and Other Backward Communities as on 20.09.2023
Explanation:
An applicant who has passed the 3 years U.G. degree from Open or Deemed University recognized by & established under the UGC Act, after prosecuting the studies in the pattern of 10+2 at Secondary/Higher Secondary Schooling is eligible for admission to 3year LL.B programme.
The applicant who has passed the qualifying examination U.G. degree in a single sitting examination is not eligible for admission to 3 yr LL.B Law programme.
*A Writ Petition (civil) No. 1023/2016 is pending before the Supreme Court of India regarding the maximum age limit prescribed for admission. The admission of the students who have crossed the age limit is subject to the outcome of the said writ petition. In this regard, college has to obtain an undertaking from the students who have crossed the age limit in the proforma enclosed.
